VHT: Padikkal cracks fourth ton; Pandya fireworks in vain

Batting performances

On a day he was left out of India's ODI squad, Axar Patelhit a 111-ball 130 to guide Gujarat to a seven-run victory against Andhra. The allrounder smashed five maximums and 10 more boundaries in his breezy knock that gave Gujarat a total of 318/9 on the board. Despite opener CR Gnaneshwar's valiant century, Andhra fell just short.

Priyansh Arya (72* off 45) and Rishabh Pant (67* off 37) were the batting stars for Delhi as they mowed down Services' modest 179-run challenge in under 20 overs. The duo joined hands at 97/2, and smashed a partnership of 78 in just 41 deliveries to help Delhi over the finish line in just 19.4 overs - hitting nine sixes and 13 boundaries between them.

After Arshdeep Singh had set Punjab up for an easy win, Prabhsimran Singh smashed a 26-ball 53 not out to help his side to a thumping 10-wicket win over Sikkim. He hit five sixes and four more boundaries in his blistering knock, helping Delhi overhaul the 76-run target in just 6.2 overs.

Arshin Kulkarni made a run-a-ball 114, laced with 11 boundaries and three sixes, to set the base for Maharashtra's match-winning score of 366/4 against Mumbai. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad chipped in a 52-ball 66 while Ramakrishna Ghosh provided the finishing touches with a more aggressive 64 not out off just 27 deliveries, slamming five sixes.

Sammar Gajjar put on a one-man-show - a 135-ball 147 - to set up Saurashtra for a 31-run win against Railways despite Ashutosh Sharma's 45-ball cameo worth 65 in the chase. The centurion added two crucial partnerships, worth 111 with Hetvik Kotak and 66 runs with Chirag Jani, but did the bulk of the scoring to propel his side to 294/8.

Pukhraj Mann's 134 off 121 balls went in vain as Chhattisgarh chased down Himachal Pradesh's 320/8 with two balls to spare courtesy a combined batting effort. Mann came in to bat at 32/2 inside sixth over, and then put on a 178-run partnership with Innesh Mahajan, who fell five short of the triple-figure mark himself. Mann hit 11 boundaries and a couple of maximums in his valiant effort.

Goa opener Snehal Kauthankar's 105 was trumped by Aanjaneya Suryavanshi's 115* off just 87 balls, at no. 5, as Uttarakhand chased down the 271-run target with 3.4 overs to spare in Jaipur.uttarakhand were reeling at 83/3 at one stage before Suryavanshi turned the tables on Goa, combining for a 191-run partnership with Shashwat Dangwal, wjo chipped in a run-a-ball 70.

Parth Vats' 157 not out saw Haryana script a thrilling four-wicket win over Odisha in a high-scoring encounter in Alur. Opener Swastik Samal made 101, aided by Govinda Poddar's 77, to help set up a 306-run target for Haryana who found themselves in a spot of bother at 14/3. Vats arrived at no. 5 and took charge entirely, finding company in Anuj Thakral (59* off 48) to see his side home with eight balls to spare.

Devdutt Padikkal smashed his fourth century in fifth Vijay Hazare Trophy encounter of the season, setting up Karnataka's massive 80-run victory over Tripura. Following up on his 147, 124, 22, and 113 in the tournament so far, the opener's 120-ball effort on Saturday gave his aside a strong 332/7 that Tripura could not even get close to despite Swapnil Singh's 93-ball valiant 100 at no. 7.

Hardik Pandya's 133 went in vain as Aman Mokhade made a fine 150 not out to guide Vidarbha to nine-wicket win over Baroda in Rajkot. Pandya was at his brutal best, smashing 11 sixes in his 92-ball effort to go with eight more boundaries as he propelled his team to 293/9. Mokhade, however, shared a 127-run stand with Atharva Taide (65) and another worth 169 with Dhruv Shorey (65 not out) to get his side home in just 42 overs.

Skipper Tilak Varma's 109 gave Hyderabad a winning 286/9, top-scoring in their 136-run victory against Chandigarh. He added a crucial 114-run stand with Abhirath Reddy (71) to set up the side for a 250-plus total which the bowlers defended with alpomb.

Sanju Samson (101 off 95) and skipper Rohan Kunnummal (124 off 78) shared a 212-run opening stand, in a chase of 312, to set up a comfortable eight-wicket win for Kerala, bettering Kumar Kushagra's 143 not out and a run-a-ball 72 from Anukul Roy that gave Jharkhand a fighting total.

Abhimanyu Easwaran's fine 102 helped set up Bengal's massive 85-run victory over Assam. The opener's 116-ball effort included 10 boundaries, and formed the backbone of Bengal's 302/7 which proved too tall a mountain to climb for Assam.

Uttar Pradesh were able to maintain their winning streak in the tournament courtesy a brisk hand of 45-ball 80 not out from Sameer Rizvi, who slammed five maximums and another half a dizen boundaries to propel his side to a match-winning 322/5. He was aided by Dhruv Jurel, who chipped in a 55 in 62 balls at one-down.

Bowling performances

Harshit Rana's 4 for 47was instrumental in Delhi dismantling Services at the BCCI's COE. Rana, aided by Prince Yadav who claimed a 3 for 28, ran through the Services top and middle order to keep them restricted to just 178.

Arshdeep Singh ran through the Sikkim middle and lower order to bowl them out for just 75. The Punjab pacers finished his 10-over quota with figures of 5 for 34 (one maiden) to set his side up for a NRR-boosting win.

Varun Chakravarthy's 10-2-25-4 was in vain as Tamil Nadu failed to chase down a humble 226-run target set by Rajasthan. Instead, it was Ashok Sharma who picked up a 5 for 58 to script a thrilling win for his side by just 10 runs in a low-scoring encounter in Ahmedabad.
