A Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Tuesday (November 18) that the upcoming women's white-ball tour of India in December has been postponed for an indefinite period.

Bangladesh were slated to play three ODIs and three T20Is in India from mid December but recently the BCCI informed the board that they cannot host the series as they intend to give a prolonged break to the players following their maiden World Cup triumph.

"Yes, they have informed us that the series is not happening as per discussion but that does not mean it is abandoned. We can say the tour has been postponed and it will be rescheduled," BCB women's wing chairman Abdur Razzak told Cricbuzz on Tuesday.

"It cannot be postponed as this is part of Future Tour Program. They want to give their cricketers rest ahead of the WPL."

The ODI leg of the tour would have marked the beginning of the new cycle of the ICC Women's ODI Championship for both sides. The tourists were expected to leave on December 14 or 15 for the tour as per the initial plan. Incidentally, the Indian men's white-ball tour of Bangladesh in August 2025 was also postponed and is now scheduled to held in September 2026.
