Former Australian allrounder Tom Moody has been appointed by Lucknow Super Giants as their global director of cricket. Announcing his onboarding, LSG stated in a media release that 'Moody will oversee cricket strategy, player auction, player retention and global talent scouting across RPSG's franchises.'
As a result, Moody will not only be heavily involved in LSG's upcoming auction strategy but he will also have a say in the functioning of Durban Super Giants in the SA20 and Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
At LSG, Moody will join hands with fellow Australian Justin Langer who remains the Head Coach and newly appointed strategic advisor Kane Williamson. Moody has already had stints in the IPL with Punjab Kings and famously with Sunrisers Hyderabad with whom he also won the trophy once.
"It's a privilege to accept the role as global director of cricket for the RPSG Group. After positive discussions with Mr Goenka it became very apparent this was an exciting opportunity and I also welcome the chance to work alongside him," Moody said.
"I look forward to helping build a unified cricketing philosophy across the franchises, driving excellence in performance, player development and strategic planning to ensure continued success on and off the field. I'm excited to work alongside all the players, coaches and management to achieve our goals."
