Young Ayush Mhatre will captain the Mumbai side in the annual Buchi Babu tournament. The 17-member squad also features Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan. Organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association, the multi-day event will be held in Chennai from August 18 to September 9.

The appointment of 18-year-old Mhatre underscores his rising stature in both the Mumbai and India setups. He made an instant impact in his brief IPL stint with the Chennai Super Kings, and was later named captain of the India Under-19 team that toured England earlier this summer and will visit Australia next month.

The tournament will be played from August 18 to September 9, with 16 teams, divided in four groups, taking part in it. Group A includes TNCA President's XI, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Group B teams are Railways, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha and Baroda. TNCA XI and Mumbai are part of Group C, which also includes Haryana and Bengal. Hyderabad, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand are in Group D.
