Prithvi Shaw's latest message of thanks was to his father for giving him the confidence during a period of low following India's tour of Australia which had seen Shaw slide down the pecking order as quickly as he'd gone up. During IPL 2021, Shaw has also had opportunities to thank his personal coach - Prashant Shetty - and current Delhi Capitals batting coach - Pravin Amre - for their contribution to a corrected technique. With three fifties already in this edition, Shaw's run-glut, which started well before the IPL, shows no signs of abating.
The other significant improvement in Shaw's game has been the surge in strike rate for the season, which is currently at a handsome 165 and only behind AB de Villiers' 174 in the top 10 run-getters list for the season. This marriage of quantity and speed puts him in an elite zone as is evident by the company he's sharing at the moment.
