Afghanistan's maiden Test double centurion Hashmatullah Shahidi is over the moon to get his name in the history books and playing a part in their comeback against Zimbabwe in the two-match Test series at UAE.

Afghanistan lost the opening Test inside two days but made a brilliant comeback to level the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe by earning a six wicket win on the fifth day and the left-hander Shahidi was one of the major architects behind their transformation, making 200 in their first innings to take the game away from their opponent as they posted over 500 runs on the board.

''I feel great on becoming the first Afghan double centurion, and its proud moment for me, my family and the nation because in such short time someone from Afghanistan achieved this milestone,'' said an elated Shahidi after the game on Sunday. ''I hope that I play same kind of innings in the future and play well for Afghanistan."

Shahidi added that his skipper Asghar Afghan gave him confidence and the duo were determined to take the responsibility. They added
