Kings XI Punjab had walked into tonight's fixture against defending champions Mumbai Indians with the dubious record of being both the best and the worst bowling side in powerplay and death overs respectively. For a team that has both its new-ball bowlers among the top-three wicket-takers in this IPL, their economy in death overs read an alarming 14.26. Another lacklustre - and rather incoherent - outing later, which saw them leaking 89 off the final five overs, that ER spiked up to 15.33 - a tally 3.19 clear of the second-placed RCB - as their position in the points table plummeted just as sharply.
