Hello and welcome to the Live Blog for Day 4 of the second Test between England and Pakistan at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. Please refresh for new updates!

Day 4, Stumps:Rain, ultimately, has the final say as the day's play has been called off. England are 7 for 1 in reply to Pakistan's 236 and unless there are brave declarations tomorrow, and the weather holds good, a draw is imminent.

Glass half-empty or half-full?The clouds seem to be clearing up in Southampton, even blue skies have been spotted. But it still continues to rain.

Nothing promising:Lunch has been taken and the players continue to wait. It's still raining in Southampton and the forecast is for more rain.

The players are off:A slight drizzle and with the light deteriorating, the players are leaving the field. And shortly later, the rain has intensified.

Action-packed start to the innings:Zak Crawley survives a Pakistan reviewwith the UltraEdge showing a spike. Sibley is then struck on his belly region by an Abbas delivery that rises off a length. The umpires, meanwhile, are constantly looking at the light meter.

Burns falls early:Afridi found the outside edge off the first ball but it landed short of Shafiq at second slip. But the fourth ball, another outside edge, carried to the same fielder, much to Pakistan's delight as Burns was dismissed for a duck.

Pakistan bowled out for 236:Rizwan managed a couple of boundaries and also retained maximum strike before getting a leading edge off Broad which was caught by Crawley at cover. He's the last to be dismissed, ending with 72 as Pakistan finish with a decent total. Broad bags a four-wicket haul.

Finally, some play:The day's play starts on time, with Anderson and Broad starting the proceedings. And there's a lot of swing and movement on offer as well.
