It took only 389 deliveries for David Warner to reach the 300-run mark, as he became the seventh Australian to score a triple century - and only the second from his country to score one against Pakistan after Mark Taylor, and also the second in a day-night Test.

Reactions poured in on Twitter after the left-hander reached a special milestone:

That, however, did not happen as Australia declared their innings after Warner reached 335, going past Don Bradman and Mark Taylor. Questions were raised over Tim Paine's declaration while Matt Hayden's Australia record and Brian Lara's overall record remained intact.

Nevertheless, it was a brilliant comeback from Warner, who after serving a year's ban and enduring a poor Ashes, made a statement with his bat.
