Day 4, Stumps:

Denly and Roy had a nervous stay in the short time they were at the crease but they managed to come out unscathed as England end the day at 18 for 2. Needing 365 more for victory, the hosts have a big task on the final day to keep the Ashes alive. Join us tomorrow to find out if they can keep the series alive heading into the final Test.

England in early trouble:

Cummins gets the first over and gives Australia a dream start by striking off successive deliveries. Half-centurions of the first innings - Burns and Root - depart without scoring. Burns got a leading edge to short cover while Root got the perfect ball which he had no answer to, bowled off the first ball he faced.

England need 383 for victory:

Paine delayed the declaration for a bit, giving Australia the luxury of a few more runs with his brisk 23 off 18 before heading off signalling an end to the innings. Australia have declared at 186 for 6, setting England a target of 383.

Wade also departs:

Looking to chase a widish delivery from Archer, Wade ends up edging it to Bairstow to depart for a well-made 34. Australia, meanwhile, have stretched the lead past 350.

Smith finally falls:

A wicket for Leach as Smith hands a catch to Stokes in the deep while trying to go over the top. Australia 149 for 5, leading by 345 runs.
