In what turned out to be one of the most thrilling finishes in the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore pipped table-toppers Chennai Super Kings by one run at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to keep their hopes of making the top four alive.
The game looked dead and buried when RCB had CSK on the mat with four quick wickets. However, MS Dhoni brought his side back in the game with a stunning innings. With 26 needed off the final over, bowled by Umesh Yadav, RCB looked to have the game in the bad. Dhoni, however, went berserk, smashing 24 runs off the first five balls. He missed the final delivery, and Parthiv Patel effected a run out to give the home team a very important victory. Dhoni ended with 84 off 48 balls, and sent twitterati into a frenzy with his knock.
