South Africa kicked off their campaign against Bangladesh with a handsome win thanks to an all-round effort. The gulf in class was apparent as the hosts ran away with a 106-run victory to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match women's ODI series.

Batting first, South Africa rode on fifties by Lizelle Lee and Chloe Tyron to post a challenging 270. Lee, along with Laura Wolvaardt, helped the side to a good start. The pair chipped in with 67 off 12.4 overs to give the team the platform for a big score.
