csk vs kkr, final, ipl 2021
CSK vs KKR, Final, IPL 2021
Morgan won the toss and opted to bowl first. No changes for either side.
Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave CSK a good start with 61 runs for the opening wicket.
Faf du Plessis made KKR pay for the missed stumping chance with a half-century. He went on to make 86, missing out on the orange cap by just a couple of runs.
Sunil Narine struck to end Robin Uthappa's 31-run cameo after he and du Plessis added a 63-run stand off just 32 balls.
Moeen Ali added 68 runs with du Plessis for the third wicket as the pair powered CSK to 192.
Venkatesh Iyer and Shubman Gill added 91 runs for the opening wicket to put KKR on course for the 193-run chase.
CSK thought they had Gill's wicket, but the ball was declared a dead ball after having hit spidercam giving the openers another reprieve.
From 91/0 , KKR were reduced to 125/8 as they conceded the advantage to CSK.
KKR fell way behind in the chase, eventually falling short by 27 as CSK bagged their fourth IPL title - one behind MI's 5!
CSK have been brilliant and they have crowned champions! For the FOURTH time.
