Bangladesh v Pakistan, 1st Test, Day 3
Resuming the day on 227 for 1, Pakistan made rapid strides in knocking off the runs they were trailing Bangladesh by as Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez buckled down.
Pakistan Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq was off the mark with a six and shared a quick-fire stand with Hafeez.
Recently retired from ODI cricket, Younis Khan played a fluent innings of 33 before he was bowled by Taijul Islam by a delivery than turned viciously.
Along with Azhar Ali, Mohammad Hafeez added 227 runs for the second wicket as Pakistan closed in on taking the lead.
After missing out on a double-century on two occasions, Hafeez made the most of his start and went on to complete his maiden double hundred. Hafeez has now scored three hundreds in his last four Test matches.
While Hafeez carried on, Azhar Ali was bowled by Shuvagata Hom for 83.
Hafeez's epic stay was brought to an end by Shuvagata Hom for 224.
Pakistan, however, continued their charge and closed Day 3 on 537 for 7, with Sarfraz Ahmed having scored a brisk unbeaten half-century (51*) and was given company by Asad Shafiq, who was also 51*.
